I have always enjoyed Edward Said, his post-colonial work is awesome. I think that this statement really holds true for ex-patriots and those that stay in a foreign country or several for a long time as well. It also holds for those of us, who for whatever unknown reason have hearts that have managed to wander far from our home shores. Those who are exiled, not from without but rather from within.
